Sometimes it’s best to go alone. Tonight, at the 2019 Clash of Champions pay-per-view, every championship in WWE was on the line, as is the tradition for this event. The real question left to answer is, how did the champions do?
If you were a tag team champion, the answer was not so well.
While most titles stayed around the waists of their current owners, both the Raw and Smackdown Live Tag Team Championships changed hands over the course of the evening.
To begin the show, the team of Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode defeated the team of Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman to become the new Raw Tag Team champions. The finish came when, after some miscommunication between Rollins and Strowman, Roode hit The Architect with the Glorious DDT to pick up the win for his team.
Check out how the new champions felt after their match:
Later in the evening, the Smackdown Live titles were on the line, as the New Day defended against The Revival. Dash and Wilder would end up victorious, after a hard fought battle against Xavier Woods and Big E.
Every other champion retained in WWE retained their title at Clash of Champions 2019.
Editor’s Opinion:
I am OK with both of these title changes. Strowman and Rollins needed to not be the champions to set up their match, and The Revival are outstanding workers and are deserving of titles. Congratulations to both teams for picking up great victories! There are wonderful things ahead for both of these teams and I can’t wait to see who they face next.
