A colossal tag team match, which was confirmed Tuesday at WWE’s “Smackdown” tapings, will take place at “SummerSlam” on Aug. 23.
Former Shield and Wyatt Family members collide when Dean Ambrose teams with Roman Reigns to take on the duo of Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper.
“The Vigilante” Sting had originally been reported to be involved in this bout, although those plans were eventually scrapped.
The recent tension between Reigns and Wyatt dates back to WWE “Money in the Bank” on June 14, with Bray knocking Roman off a ladder as he was about to secure the MITB briefcase hanging above the ring.
In a six-man tag team match this past Monday night on “Raw,” the team of Ambrose, Reigns, and Randy Orton defeated Wyatt, Harper, and current MITB holder Sheamus.
Also confirmed for the “SummerSlam” card card is Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker in the night’s main event, as well as Ryback defending the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Big Show and Miz in a Triple Threat match.
Editor’s Note
“SummerSlam” is shaping up nicely. Nothing overly special about this match, though, but considering the classic Shield vs. Wyatt Family bouts of the past, this little number should be just as awesome as those were.
