According to a report by F4WOnline.com, several wrestlers are upset with the recent release of Alberto Del Rio.

On Aug. 7, Del Rio was let go by World Wrestling Entertainment after slapping social media worker Cody Barbierri for an insensitive comment he made about Mexican people.

There are those who believe that Barbierri had what was coming to him. The report notes that he too could also be without a job in the very near future.

We here at WrestlingRumors.net reported back in February that Del Rio was looking to leave the company as soon as his contract was up. He had been openly frustrated with his position in the company, although he was fully committed to honoring his remaining dates until he was allowed to walk.

There are already rumors of Del Rio reuniting with Ricardo Rodriguez in the AAA promotion in Mexico or as a pair on the independent circuit. Ricardo was recently granted his release so that he may pursue a career as an in-ring performer.

TNA representatives have also gotten in touch with Del Rio over a possible debut as well.

Editor’s Note

Del Rio was a heck of a worker, regardless of his gimmick being played out. I can understand why other superstars would be sad to see him go, on top of the reason of him being completely justified in slapping Barbierri, unprofessional or not.
