At “WWE Money in the Bank” on June 29 at the TD Garden in Boston, Daniel Bryan will either defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Stretcher match against Kane or the belts will be vacated and then raised above the ring for the MITB Ladder match.
According to a report by F4WOnline.com, the reason behind this move is that WWE feels they can’t afford to go another pay-per-view/special event without a title match.
The feeling backstage is that even though the belts weren’t defended at “WWE Payback,” the fact that it was presented and mentioned during a segment involving Bryan, Stephanie McMahon and Brie Bella is good enough.
Alberto Del Rio defeated Dolph Ziggler last Monday night on “RAW” to become the first superstar entered in the MITB Ladder match. More qualifying bouts are set to take place later tonight, although the participants are unknown at this time
The rehabilitation process is taking longer than expected for Bryan. He’s losing strength in his arm as many in WWE wonder if he should take even more time off to make sure he’s at 100 percent.
Editor’s Note
Can you blame WWE? If Bryan isn’t ready to compete for a second-straight special event, what choice do they really have? If Bryan is the “real deal” and truly considered a top guy in the company, he’ll get a chance to regain the belts soon enough, if it even comes to that.
