As confirmed by WrestlingNewsSource.com, Bobby Roode has defeated Lashley to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion after their match at the “Impact Wrestling” television taping in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Thursday night.

This is Roode’s second reign as champion with the company. His last reign lasted 256 days, making it the longest in TNA’s history.

Lashley defeated Eric Young on June 19 in the same building for his first title win, making him champion [technically] for 91 days.

This match will air on Oct. 15 on Spike TV.

Kurt Angle, the current Executive Director of Wrestling Operations, was the guest referee.
