According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, “The Icon” Sting’s current TNA contract is set to expire after the first day of 2014. However, this follows the same pattern that TNA and Sting have used in the past. Sting will usually work limited dates for the company and sign short-term contracts each year in order to give him more freedom in choosing when he wants to leave.

Although nothing is official or set in stone, the report went on to state that it is believed that Sting will re-sign with the company through 2014. Like his previous contracts, he will work a limited number of dates throughout the year. Even though his contract expires after January 1, 2014, he is still being advertised for TNA television special of Genesis. Sting will appear for the event even if a deal has not been reached, due to an extension in his contract.
