Each year, following the post-WrestleMania edition of “Monday Night Raw,” the show’s viewership tends to drop, as WrestleMania season has come and gone. The April 14 edition of the program marked this turning point for the company, as viewership had a significant drop from last week. According to TVByTheNumbers.com, the April 14 showing of “Monday Night Raw” averaged 4,770,000 viewers, down significantly from last week’s number of 5,150,000.
The show, which was a tribute to the late great Ultimate Warrior, started out with an average of 4,811,000 viewers for the first hour. Viewership then rose for the second hour, garnering 4,831,000 viewers. However, as is the case most nights, viewership dropped for the third and final hour. The third hour, featuring the reformation of Evolution, brought in 4,669,000 viewers.
Despite the drop in numbers, “Monday Night Raw” was still the number-one cable program for Monday, April 14. It obtained a 1.7 rating for Adults aged 18-49. Coming in second-place was “Family Guy,” whose rating was a 1.2.
Editor’s Note
I’m not surprised that there was such a significant drop in viewership, as WrestleMania is now a week removed. However, these numbers are still strong for the company, and it will be interesting to see if they are able to be kept up throughout the spring, heading into summer.
