Throughout the past couple of weeks, WWE’s ratings and viewership numbers for “Monday Night Raw” have not been stellar. While viewership drops were expected due to “Monday Night Football” starting up on ESPN, the drops were likely not anticipated to be as sharp as they’ve been. Last week, “Monday Night Raw” averaged 3.797 million viewers, the third lowest figure of 2014 and the lowest since May.
Despite a noticeably better show than last week, “Monday Night Raw” viewership would actually decrease from last week. According to TVByTheNumbers.com, the Oct. 13 episode of “Monday Night Raw” averaged 3.751 million viewers, down about 1.2 percent from last week.
Below are the hourly breakdowns:
Hour 1: 3.833 million viewers
Hour 2: 3.756 million viewers
Hour 3: 3.664 million viewers
Another worrisome sign for WWE was this week’s hourly breakdowns. Throughout the entire night, viewership decreased. With the main event of the show being a No Holds Barred, Contract on a Pole match between John Cena and Dean Ambrose, which was originally scheduled for pay-per-view, it’s surprising that viewership for the final hour saw a noticeable drop. Also showcased in the final hour were celebrity guests NeNe Leakes and Todd Chrisley, who were likely brought on the show to garner new viewers.
Editor’s Note
For a very good “Monday Night Raw,” at least compared to past weeks, this is not a good sign for WWE.
