WWE aired what will likely go down as its biggest showing of “Monday Night Raw” in 2015 on March 30. The episode of WWE’s flagship program came after its biggest event of the year, WrestleMania 31, featuring fallout from the event which saw a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion crowned. According to TVByTheNumbers.com, the March 30 “Monday Night Raw” averaged 5.364 million viewers, substantially up from the previous week’s figure of 4.188 million.
Below is the hourly viewership breakdown for the March 30 “Monday Night Raw:”
Hour 1: 5.227 million viewers
Hour 2: 5.597 million viewers
Hour 3: 5.267 million viewers
Throughout the night, WWE was able to maintain stable viewership, not suffering a decrease from the show’s first and last hour. Its second hour was its most-viewed, likely due to the fact that it featured former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. “The Beast Incarnate” was slated to face new titleholder Seth Rollins in a championship bout, but Rollins backed out at the last second. This led to an infuriated Lesnar attacking the commentary team, and even a cameraman.
Despite the strong viewership figures, “Monday Night Raw” was not the highest-rated cable program on March 30. WWE came in second, trailing “The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber.” The Comedy Central program obtained a 2.6 rating for adults aged 18 through 49, with WWE picking up a 2.0 rating for the demographic. However, “Monday Night Raw” would be the most-viewed cable program for the night.
Editor’s Note
If only these numbers could stay persistent. Though, it will be interesting to see how much of a drop off occurs in the coming weeks.
