On June 1, WWE aired the latest edition of its flagship program, “Monday Night Raw.” The show served as the first piece of WWE programming following the year’s “Elimination Chamber” event, which was exclusively shown on the WWE Network. At “Elimination Chamber,” a new WWE Intercontinental Champion was crowned, and Kevin Owens won his debut match in WWE against John Cena.
According to TVByTheNumbers.com, the June 1 showing of “Monday Night Raw” averaged 3.973 million viewers. The fallout from “Elimination Chamber” aided viewership, as it was up by 10 percent from last week’s figure of 3.600 million.
Below is the hourly viewership breakdown for the June 1 “Monday Night Raw:”
Hour 1: 3.946 million viewers
Hour 2: 4.113 million viewers
Hour 3: 3.862 million viewers
For the night, “Monday Night Raw” was both the most viewed and highest rated cable program. For adults aged 18 through 49, WWE obtained a rating of 1.4, besting its number from the past week. WWE edged out VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop” series, which obtained a rating of 1.3 for the demographic, for the highest rated cable program.
Editor’s Note
It makes sense that WWE saw a noticeable increase in viewership, considering the previous week’s showing of “Monday Night Raw” fell on Memorial Day in the United States. It will probably continue to hover around four million, as “SummerSlam” approaches.
