During TNA’s television tapings in early August at the Manhattan Center in New York, TNA President Dixie Carter revealed that she gave an inspiring pep talk to TNA talent. The news surfaced from an interview that she did with Grantland. In the interview, Carter claimed that she gave a passionate speech in which she even went as far to “cuss.”
According to Carter, afterwards, certain members of TNA’s talent approached her to tell her that they believe in the promotion. Carter’s fired up speech had a lot to do with TNA’s uncertain future, as its television deal with Spike will end come to a close after 2014.
However, in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is reported that Carter’s words may not have been completely true. The newsletter spoke to someone who was in attendance for the pep talk, and that individual noted that two things were false. According to the source, Carter was not too fired up to the point of cussing, and the individual had no knowledge of members of the talent approaching Carter afterwards to instill their faith in the promotion.
Editor’s Note
While there’s a good chance Dixie Carter did fabricate some stuff, I’m sure WWE higher-ups have done the same in interviews.
