On Thursday, Feb. 12, WWE taped February and March editions of its developmental promotion, “NXT.” The tapings came the day after the latest NXT live special, titled “NXT TakeOver: Rival.” At that event, a new NXT Champion was crowned.
During the tapings on Feb. 12, not just one, but two former WWE stars would return to the company in some capacity. As previously reported, former WWE and ECW standout Rhyno wrestled a match on the Feb. 18 “NXT” episode.
In addition to Rhyno, former WWE star Brian Kendrick, who was again branded as “The Brian Kendrick,” returned to WWE during the “NXT” tapings. Kendrick wrestled on the Feb. 25 showing of the program, going one-on-one with Finn Bálor. Bálor got the win in the main event match of the episode. The number-one contender for Kevin Owens’ NXT Championship defeated Kendrick with his top rope stomp.
Below is a fan photo of Kendrick’s return to WWE:

Through his two stints in WWE, Brian Kendrick was a one-time WWE and World Tag Team Champion, holding both titles with Paul London. He last wrestled for WWE in July of 2009, with his last match being a loss against Kofi Kingston.
Editor’s Note
Awesome, standard editions of “NXT” are becoming must-see, just like the live specials.
