WWE Hall of Famer and wrestling journeyman Bob Windham, known by his ring name Blackjack Mulligan, is reportedly in critical condition following a heart attack. The news came first from a report by PWInsider on Wednesday, June 17.
According to the website, Mulligan, who has had his fair share of health issues in recent years, was slated to undergo brain surgery on June 17. The surgery was planned in an effort to relieve pressure on his brain, which was a result of his past health scares. Unfortunately, while in the hospital on Tuesday, June 16, the day before his surgery, Mulligan suffered a heart attack. As of Wednesday morning, he is reportedly in critical condition, but awake and conscious.
Blackjack Mulligan has a lineage of professional wrestlers, as he is the father of Barry and Kendall Windham. He is also the father-in-law of Mike “IRS” Rotunda, making him the grandfather of current WWE Superstars Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas.
Mulligan is a former World Wide Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champion, holding the tag titles with Blackjack Lanza. Additionally, during time spent with Jim Crockett Promotions, he held tag team titles with the likes of Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes.
