WWE did away with its annual February pay-per-view “Elimination Chamber” in 2015. For now, it is unclear if the event will take place in a different month in the year. In place of “Elimination Chamber,” WWE aired its inaugural “Fastlane” pay-per-view on Feb. 22 in Memphis, Tennessee at the FedExForum. The main event of the night saw Roman Reigns defeat Daniel Bryan in order to solidify his spot in the main event of WrestleMania 31.
It appears that “Fastlane” will be sticking around as WWE’s annual February pay-per-view for the time being. A recent lawsuit WWE filed in California to prevent counterfeit merchandise sales during WrestleMania week revealed the company’s entire event schedule through March 28, 2016. In addition to information about future NXT live specials and the 2016 “Royal Rumble,” the lawsuit also provided details on the 2016 “Fastlane” event.
According to PWInsider, the second “Fastlane” pay-per-view will take place on Feb. 21, 2016. It will air from St. Louis, Missouri at the Scottrade Center. The following two nights, WWE will air “Monday Night Raw” in Kansas City, and tape “Smackdown” in Omaha, Nebraska respectively.
Editor’s Note
I didn’t think WWE would get rid of “Fastlane” after just one year. I wonder if any news on the “Elimination Chamber” event potentially returning in a different month will come out.
