The real-life couple has not come to terms with ROH as of this writing and are now officially done with the company as of last night’s television tapings in Philadelphia. On Friday, The Kingdom dropped the ROH Tag Titles to War Machine at ROH’s Final Battle. Last night, Bennett and Kanellis said their good-byes.
Their departure from Ring of Honor shouldn’t be a surprise given the speculation surrounding the end of their run. It’s been said by those within the company that the couple would be leaving for awhile now. However, their departure from ROH will most likely stall the possibility of them heading to New Japan Pro Wrestling as well.
Despite the fact that Bennett and Kannelis were rumored to go to WWE earlier this month, the rumors now have the couple going to TNA. Nothing is confirmed, and NXT/WWE is still a strong possibility. However, Maria and Bennett were reportedly telling people that they will be starting with TNA in January.
No matter what happens with the couple, Bennett’s tag team partner, Matt Taven is signed with ROH through March of next year. For the time being, he’ll be in ROH but expect more news about The Kingdom over the first few months of 2016.
