Last night at NXT Takeover: Dallas, Sami Zayn had the match of a lifetime with Shinsuke Nakamura. Zayn lost the match, but that was necessary and acted as a huge stamp of approval for NXT’s past in Sami to put over Nakamura as NXT’s future.
Naturally, there are a lot of questions given the momentum and Sami Zayn’s transition to the main roster if last night was his final match and his goodbye to NXT. After his match last night, Sami did the following interview and attempted to answer those questions:

Sometimes in wrestling, you just know in the moment what is actually happening. A foresight to understand what the long-term plan is going forward.
Of course, we won’t know anything for sure until after Sunday night at Wrestlemania. But, it can be assumed that last night was the swan song for Zayn in NXT, and he’s completed his transition onto the main roster.
In all honesty, Sami Zayn could leave Dallas as the Intercontinental Champion on Sunday. As a character, he’s hellbent on gaining revenge on Kevin Owens.
What better way than to take the IC title from him during their first Wrestlemania? That would also reignite the Owens vs. Zayn rivalry because Owens can claim he never actually beat him. That would be a great feud going through the spring and most likely lasting until Summerslam. Sami Zayn’s future is bright.
Do you think Sami Zayn will win the Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania?
