Ever since King Barrett was released by WWE, all has been quiet on the western front for him. It’s unclear what his intentions are for the future, but you can’t help wondering about his next move considering how much talent he has left to give to the industry.
It’s possible and understandable that Barrett lost his taste for the industry and is moving onto films or another form of entertainment for his career. However, if he is going to continue wrestling, he should consider NJPW.
New Japan Pro Wrestling is the absolutely perfect place for him to go after WWE. TNA Wrestling is a good place for him considering a lot of the roster is younger, and a guy like Drew Galloway can get the respect and position he deserves, but there is something about Barrett in New Japan that makes sense and is very intriguing.
First and foremost, The Bullet Club is still dominating with the likes of Kenny Omega and Adam Cole rejuvenating that group after the loss of AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows.
Barrett could always join the group and regain a lot of his prestige back as part of a group, but he may be in a better position feuding with them. Barrett vs. Omega for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship? Hell yes!
The best part about signing with New Japan is he’d be able to work other promotions and potentially go to Ring of Honor where he would be a shoe-in for their TV title or even the ROH World title if he caught on there.
Barrett has too much potential, and he’s never had a face run in this business. There are too many cool things left for him to do. He deserves some rest for the ninety days he’s under his non-compete but look what Cody Rhodes is doing out there. Barrett can still be a superstar. It’s also his for the taking.
Do you think Wade Barrett should go to New Japan Pro Wrestling?
