The current hunt for Kalisto’s United States Championship is surprisingly non-existent on WWE television right now.
What’s curious about that is the US title was one of the most important over the last year. Rusev brought it back from the dead and John Cena’s title reign was one of the best things from last year until Alberto Del Rio won the title and cooled off the majority of its steam.
Del Rio vs. Kalisto was a very good feud for what it was, but it’s left Kalisto and the US title just floating around, and it’s not being featured properly anymore, which is strange considering Wrestlemania is less than a month away.
A rumor going around WWE was that if nothing to fruition that the powers that be would continue Del Rio vs. Kalisto for one more match on the grandest stage of them all.
However, it seems that isn’t the plan. According to DailyWrestlingNews.com, the plan is for Ryback to face Kalisto for the United States Championship at Wrestlemania 32 in Dallas.
Our opinion was a match between Kalisto vs. Neville was a much more interesting situation for both men, but WWE seems like they’re pushing Ryback into the hell role and trying to give him momentum through a feud with Kalisto.
WWE is planning a huge push and World title shot for Ryback in the future, so it’s going to be interesting to see how he’s booked against Kalisto and what WWE plans to do after this year’s Wrestlemania.
