That’s a good reason. There are all kinds of stars on the AEW roster but there are a certain few who have come to define the promotion. Those wrestlers are going to be the biggest names in the company’s history and it can make a big difference when they are gone or any period of time. That is the case with one of the biggest stars AEW has ever seen, and now we know where he has been.

Jon Moxley has not wrestled nor been seen since losing the IWGP World Heavyweight Title to Tetsuya Naito at AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door on June 30. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is nothing wrong with Moxley and AEW has simply given him some time off. There is no word on when he will return to AEW TV or any other promotion either.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you need to see happen every so often. Moxley is arguably the biggest star AEW has ever had but he isn’t the only star they have. It makes sense for him to need some time away and the god thing is that the company has the oster depth to make up for his absence. Hopefully he is back soon, while being well rested and ready to go.
