WATCH: Former Champion Makes AEW Return On Dynamite After Months Long Absence

Welcome back. There are multiple reason to have a wrestler step away from the ring for a little while. Occasionally it can be due to an injury and sometimes it is due to someone just needing a break. Other situations are more designed to advance a storyline, which appears to be the case again with a recent absence. That absence ended this week with a surprise return to end a show.

This week’s AEW Dynamite featured a main event of Mariah May successfully defended the Women’s Title against Mina Shirakawa. Following the match, former champion Toni Storm made a surprise return to stare May down. Storm was in her original gear rather than her Timeless persona. This was Storm’s first appearance since losing the title to May at All In in on August 25.

Storm is quite the star. Check out what she has done in AEW:

Opinion: This was quite the return and that is great to see. The biggest issue with May’s title reign has been the waiting for Storm to return, which has been hanging over the whole thing. That is going to be a big issue and thankfully we should be seeing something move forward for a change, which is the best thing that could happen to May. Odds are Storm will get another title shot in Australia at Grand Slam and that should make for a good showdown.
