It’s the big one. Last year, WWE brought back the old WCW concept of WarGames, the ultimate team battle. The match is one of the most infamous and violent matches in the history of wrestling and fans had been waiting for it to come to WWE for nearly twenty years. Last year’s match was an instant classic and it was confirmed that the match would be returning this year. Now, we know what to expect.
Here’s how it went down:
This week on NXT, General Manager William Regal announced this year’s WarGames match, which will consist of the Undisputed Era vs. the team of Ricochet, Pete Dunne and the War Raiders. The groups have been feuding for several months now in various combinations with Bobby Fish only recently returning from his knee injury. This is the second WarGames match in WWE history after the concept was brought in to the company last year.
Opinion: Well I think I can get behind this. They’ve been setting up this match for months now and that’s a great sign as we move towards one of the biggest shows of the year. The WarGames match itself is part of the card but it’s also the most important part of the card and what the show is built around. If it’s as good as last year’s edition was, we’re in for another treat.
