Trying His Hand: Reigning NXT Champion Cast In CW Network Drama Series

That’s a different one. Every so often you will see wrestlers trying their hands at acting with varying levels of success. You never know when you are going to find a wrestler who manages to make it work in Hollywood and they have to start somewhere. That is what we are going to be seeing from a current NXT champion, who is going to be trying his hand at acting.

According to Variety, current NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo will be appearing in the second season of “Wild Cards”, a Canadian police procedural series which is airing on the CW. D’Angelo will be portraying Jaws, a criminal mastermind. There is no word on when he will debut on the series or how many episodes he will appear in. D’Angelo has been NXT North American Champion since October 8.

Opinion: This is something that you see happen from time to time and maybe it can work out here. D’Angelo is already playing something of a criminal boss in NXT so why not see if he can do it on a more traditional stage? I’m not sure if it is going to be a long term career for D’Angelo, but it is cool to see him getting the chance to do this, as it very well could work out.
