Bada boom, former champ in the room. Enzo Amore has taken over the cruiserweight division and basically locked it up for the time being. Until last week, none of the current cruiserweights were allowed to challenge him for the title, though that changed with the signing of Kalisto. That signing changed things in a hurry.
This week on “Monday Night Raw”, Kalisto defeated Amore in a lumberjack match to become the new Cruiserweight Champion. Earlier in the night it was announced that Amore would be defending the title against Kalisto at “Tables Ladders and Chairs 2017” but General Manager Kurt Angle moved the match to later in the night instead.
Opinion: This was quite the surprise and that’s a good thing in this case. It was looking like Amore was going to be the champion for months on end and it made for quite the surprise when he lost the title so fast. I can’t imagine Kalisto keeps the title long and there’s a good chance that Amore gets it back sooner rather than later but at least we got a nice moment in the meantime.
