Surprise! Former Champion Makes Surprise Return After Several Months Away At AEW Forbidden Door

Welcome back. There are all kinds of stars on the AEW roster and it can be difficult to keep all of them around. At some point you are going to have someone go away for a bit for one reason or another, which can lead to some rather interesting moments. This can often include a major return, which was saw this weekend as a former champion made her ling awaited return.

Over the weekend at AEW Forbidden Door, Mercedes Mone defeated Stephanie Vaquer to retain the TBS Title as well as become the new NJPW Strong Women’s Champion. Following the match, Britt Baker returned and had a staredown with Mone. This is Baker’s first appearance since September of last year as she has been out of action due to a rumored back injury. There is no word on when she will be returning to the ring.

Opinion: This is the kind of a return that the women’s division has been needing, as Baker is one of the better stars that AEW has ever had. Having her back gives Mone an instantly credible challenger and that is always a good thing. We could be in for a good run here and the return went well, so hopefully they can live up to the hype that they have already created.
