Still Running: 60 Year Old Former WCW Star Working Backstage For AEW

Remember him? There are all kinds of people who come together to make a wrestling show work and some of them are not people you will often recognize. At the same time, there are some who might have been a star in a previous era but have been out of the spotlight for a long time. That is the case with another person who has not been an active star in years but has a new job in the industry.

According to Fightful Select, former WCW star Glacier has been hired by AEW as both a producer and a coach. He recently appeared on AEW television helping to break up a fight. Glacier, 60, only wrestles on rare occasions but was part of the 2019 Casino Battle Royal at AEW Double Or Nothing. There is nothing to suggest that he will become a regular on-screen performer of any kind.

Opinion: This is one of those things that you do not see happen very often but it can make for a rather cool reunion. Glacier was never a major star in wrestling but he was around for a long time in a rather high level company. If there is something he can offer to the rest of the roster, especially some of the younger stars, good for him for getting the chance to do so.
