Stick around? The wrestling world is often changing, with one wrestler after another being able to go somewhere else and see what happens when they move to another promotion. Such a move can be quite the change for their previous employer, as it can see something taken away. Now another star’s deal is coming up and there may be some issues that need to be dealt with first.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: AEW Considering Setting Up A New Stable
According to Fightful Select, Dustin Rhodes’ current AEW contract runs through the end of this month. Rhodes had previously said that his contract expired in September, though there is nothing to indicate that he has signed a new deal. Rhodes is currently one half of the Ring Of Honor Tag Team Champions with Sammy Guevara and one third of the Ring Of Honor Six Man Tag Team Champions with the Von Erichs. There is currently nothing to suggest that Rhodes, 55, will be leaving and there is every chance that the two sides could come to a new deal.
He’s been a big deal. Check out Rhodes’ time in AEW:
Opinion: Rhodes has been one of the more interesting stories in AEW/Ring Of Honor in recent months, as he is experiencing a mini career Renaissance at an age when most wrestlers are retiring. That has made for some emotional moments, but AEW is going to need to get him to stick around. Granted that might not take much effort, but it needs to actually be completed.
What do you think of Rhodes’ recent efforts? What is the best part of his career? Let us know in the comments below.
