She’s In: Becky Lynch Is Joining Star Trek Universe In New Acting Role

It’s a new thing. Wrestlers have tried their hands at acting for decades, often with a mixed amount of success. Most of the time, the crossover does not work out very well but every so often you will see someone go from wrestling to acting and see it work rather well. That is what we might be seeing again, as one of the biggest names WWE has had in recent years is doing some more acting.

Becky Lynch has announced that she has joined the case of the upcoming Paramount+ series “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy”. Lynch will be part of the first season, which will premiere in 2026, though it is not clear what kind of role she will be playing. She has occasionally dabbled in acting, including as Cyndi Lauper on “Young Rock”. Lynch is currently on a hiatus from WWE and it is not clear when, or if, she will be returning.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you see some wrestlers do every so often and it is not surprising to see Lynch get involved as well. There is only so much new for her to do in wrestling and while she has time away from the ring, she might as well see what she can do in another field. She seems to be happy with the project and that is great to see, as it isn’t easy to make work.
