It’s a job. There have been all kinds of people throughout WWE’s history, many of whom have never wrestled a match. These are people who offer a variety of different skills and can become memorable in their own way despite not wrestling. Just like any other wrestler though, they are going to leave WWE one day and do something else outside of the company. We now know what one such name is now doing.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Next Ones? WWE Reportedly Showing Interest In Two International Stars
During a recent edition of the Behind The Turnbuckle podcast, former WWE ring announcer Tony Chimel gave an update on his life after leaving WWE. Chimel revealed that his main job is working at Trader Joe’s grocery store while also working for AEW a few days a month. Chimel started working in WWE in 1983 when he began helping set up the ring and eventually became SmackDown announcer. He was released from WWE in November 2020.

Opinion: It’s always nice to see someone who has moved on from WWE finding something to do and Chimel seems to be in a good place. That is more than some people get to say and hopefully that gets to continue in the future. At the same time, it is great that he is getting to work in AEW, even behind the scenes, as he has quite a bit of expertise and experience in the sport.
