One more time? Retirement is a complicated process in wrestling as you never know when someone is going to be staying out of the ring for good. There is almost always the chance that a retired wrestler could get in the ring one more time under the right circumstances. That can make for a very special moment if things are set up properly and we might be seeing that take place down the line.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: No More? Dominik Mysterio’s WWE Roster May Be Changing
During a recent edition of his Grilling JR podcast, AEW’s Jim Ross discussed working with Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness on commentary. Ross mentioned that McGuinness wants to have “one more match somewhere down the road”. However, there was no word on when or where such a match would take place, or even if it ever would happen. McGuinness, 47, last wrestled in 2011.
McGuinness had a heck of an in-ring career. Check out what he has done over the years:
Opinion: I’m not sure if we’ll ever see McGuinness get back in the ring, but at the end of the day, there have been all kinds of wrestlers who have seemed to be done and then wrestled again one day. It’s great to imagine that he could get back in the ring one day and the idea of one more match with Bryan Danielson more or less writes itself. I won’t believe it until I see it, but this seems like a real possibility and that could be great to see.
What do you think of the idea? Who do you think McGuinness should face if he has a final match? Let us know in the comments below.
