Oh, Him: AEW Officials Reportedly “See Something” In This Star

They’re impressed. When a wrestling promotion has so much talent on its roster, it can be difficult for someone to stand out. Every so often though you will see a wrestler do something that makes them get the right kind of attention. That makes for some interesting situations and can change their trajectory in the company. We might be seeing that again on a big stage.

This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a six man tag between the teams of FTR/Orange Cassidy and Rush/Roderick Strong/The Beast Mortos. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Mortos did not take the fall in the match because AEW officials “see something” in him. Mortos signed with the promotion earlier this year and has made appearances in AEW and Ring Of Honor.

Opinion: Mortos has not had a ton of appearances for the promotion but it makes sense that AEW would see something in him as he has done well in his chances thus far. Any promotion can do something with someone as unique as Mortos, who can make all kinds of other stars look good in the process. That is what we have been seeing him do thus far in AEW and the company seems to be reacting positively.
