They’re in. Wrestling has evolved quite a bit over the years, but one thing that still remains is that fans have to be able to see what is going on. If the audience is unable to see the product, nothing else about about it matters. That makes it a big deal when more fans are able to watch a promotion’s action and now one of the bigger promotions has a brand new deal in place.

This week, AEW and Warner Brothers Discovery (WBD) announced a new broadcast deal which will keep AEW programming on the company’s networks for three years with an option for a fourth. In addition, AEW Dynamite and Collision will be simulcast on the Max streaming service with pay per views being offered at a discounted price. According to Variety, the deal is worth “upwards of $150m a year” though specific numbers were not released. There is no mention of Rampage in the announcement, suggesting that the show will be canceled, though this is not confirmed. The new deal begins in January 2025.

The show is off to a big start. Check out what AEW has been doing:

Opinion: Whether you like AEW or not, this is an impressive accomplishment and it should be something that helps the wrestling world as a whole. Ultimately, this should mean more money going to the wrestlers and hopefully more money going into AEW to boost it up in multiple ways. AEW has gotten a new deal and is going to be around for a good while, which is a positive thing for everyone involved.
