He wants out. There are quite a few talented stars on the AEW roster but that can lead to problems, as you never going to get everyone on the roster. That can make for some interesting situations when some wrestlers are not going to be happy with what they are doing. Occasionally it can lead to someone wanting out of the promotion, which is what we are seeing again.

According to Fightul Select, Miro has requested his release from AEW, though it is not clear if the company is willing to grant his request. Miro’s current deal runs until 2026 and is believed to be a seven figure per year contract. Miro has not wrestled since December 2023 at World’s End and has only wrestled eleven times since 2021. It has been reported that the two sides have had creative differences, resulting in Miro rarely appearing. There is no word on if WWE is interested in bringing Miro back.

Opinion: Why keep him? There are pretty clear issues with getting Miro onto AEW TV and at the end of the day, it isn’t like he’s been doing anything but getting paid to sit at home. It would make sense for AEW o cut ties with him and stop giving away money for no benefit. Maybe Miro winds up in WWE again, but for right now, there is pretty much no reason for AEW to keep him.
