What could have been? Any wrestling show has a series of matches that are designed to draw the maximum interest. However, there is one match that is going to be seen as the main event, which is the feature match of the show. It can be a big deal if that match is done properly, and now it seems that we are not going to be seeing the man event that the promotion originally planned.

This weekend, NXT will presents its Battleground event from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, with six days to go before the show, there is no main event announced yet. Last week saw the debut of Ethan Page, who attacked NXT Champion Trick Williams, though a match has not been officially made. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the original main event was going to be Noam Dar challenging Williams. Dar was attacked last month though, with Page revealing he was the attacker. While it is not clear why Dar was pulled from the spot, an injury is seen as the most likely reason.

There are options. Check out the three in question:

Opinion: It seems like we will be seeing Page getting a shot against Williams, likely for the title, but NXT is certainly taking their time in getting to the announcement. Hopefully everything works out and the match is made this week, as it likely will be, but there is only going to be so much time to set things up. I’d assume Dar was hurt, as he was pretty clearly being set up for the title match.
