That would have been different. There are all kinds of accomplishments in the wrestling world but being the World Champion is at the top of the list. It makes you the biggest star in a promotion and often the focal point of everything going on. During the most recent edition of his The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy spoke about his Broken Matt run in Impact Wrestling. Hardy revealed that had he and his brother Jeff re-signed with the company, there had been a discussion of Matt having another World Title reign. Matt felt that if he did win the title, he should not have had it long as Broken Matt was not someone who needed titles. Opinion: I can’t blame the company for considering having Matt become World Champion. The Hardys were treated as the biggest stars in the company at the time and it would have made a lot of sense for Matt to win the title. Then again, he is right that Broken Matt is not someone who needed to be champion, as he was already such a star. The short reign would have been interesting, but what happened is probably the best solution.
