Hand it over. There are all kinds of titles in wrestling and some of them are defended around the world in different promotions. While it does not happen very often, it can be a huge deal when one of the titles changes hands in different promotions. That is what we saw this weekend, with a wrestler from an American promotion going to another country and losing his championship.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Change Of Pace? Update On AEW’s Plans For Bryan Danielson

This Friday at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, CMLL star Atlantis Jr. defeated AEW star Kyle Fletcher to become the new Ring Of Honor Television Champion. Fletcher had held the title since Final Battle 2023 in December and regularly appears in both Ring Of Honor and AEW. There is no word on when Atlantis Jr. will defend the title in AEW or Ring Of Honor again. He is not currently scheduled for an appearance at Forbidden Door.

Opinion: This is the kind of title change that you see when promotions work together and that is not a bad thing. It makes things feel a little more important, even if the Ring Of Honor Television Title is only so important in the first place. What matters is giving the fans something special though, and that is what happened here, especially for the people in the Arena Mexico.
