It could be a bit. While there are all kinds of talented wrestlers on the AEW roster, there is only so much time for all of them to appear on the shows. This means that there will be times when wrestlers will take a break for one reason or another. That is what we seem to be seeing again with one of the biggest names in AEW taking a break following a rather devastating loss.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: That’s Why: AEW Not Interested In Bringing In This Former WWE Superstar
Last weekend at AEW All Out, Swerve Strickland was defeated by Hangman Page via knockout in a lights out, unsanctioned steel cage match. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Strickland will be taking time away from AEW following the loss. It is currently unknown if Strickland will work next month’s WrestleDream event in Tacoma, Washington, Strickland’s hometown.
He’s a big deal. Check out Strickland’s time in AEW:
Opinion: It’s never good to have to miss a top star for such a long time but after that kind of a loss, it makes sense for Strickland to be missing for awhile. It doesn’t make sense for him to be around and it can be a case of absence making the heart grow fonder. Strickland is one of the top stars in AEW and he could be put into a huge spot at any time, which is what we might be seeing again whenever he gets back.
What do you think of Strickland? How would you bring him back to AEW TV? Let us know in the comments below.
