It’s set. We are closing in on the end of the year and that means the holiday season is upon us. As a result, some wrestling promotions are giving its wrestlers a bit of a break, which is thankfully allowing them more time with their families. That is the case as well in AEW, which is taping quite a few of its events in advance. Now we know what to expect with its flagship show on a holiday night.

AEW has taped the Christmas night edition of Dynamite, which will air this coming Wednesday in its usual time slot. The show was taped at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, New York and will feature the finals of the round robin portion of this year’s Continental Classic. The show will return live on January 1, 2025. Here are the results, courtesy of PWInsider.com:
* AEW Continental Classic Match: Will Ospreay def. Brody King
* AEW Continental Classic Match: Darby Allin vs. Ricochet ended in a time limit draw.
* AEW Continental Classic Match: Komander def. Claudio Castagnoli. The Death Riders attacked Komander after the match with Jay White, Orange Cassidy, and Hangman Page making the save.
* AEW Continental Classic Match: Kazuchika Okada def. Shelton Benjamin
* Toni Storm def. Taya Valkyrie
* Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana promo cut a backstage promo where Strickland said he’s going to rebound in 2025. Ricochet appeared and said he would win the Continental Classic, which Swerve couldn’t do. Swerve said he’ll be waiting.
* AEW Continental Classic Match: Kyle Fletcher def. Daniel Garcia

Opinion: It’s nice to see AEW, or any promotion for that matter, letting these shows be taped in advance. There is pretty much no reason for the shows to be taking place live and thankfully this is going in a better direction. Hopefully it is part of a trend if these holidays are going to include shows going forward. The audience is not likely to be that strong, but at least the wrestlers can be at home with their families.
