It’s a different thing. Wrestlers are a lot of things, but ultimately they are athletes. While some of them might come in different forms, they all have a variety of athletic abilities. It can be interesting to see what happens when they venture into other sports, as you never know what they are capable of doing. We will be able to see what one of them can do sooner rather than later.

Combat Night MMA is promoting Xia Zhao, better known as Xia Li in WWE, for their upcoming event in Kissimmee, Florida on August 3. Li will face Xiomara Lee, who has a 1-0 amateur record, in her professional debut. Li, 35 years old, wrestled for WWE from 2017-2024 before being released in April of this year. She has since wrestled on the independent circuit.

Opinion: This makes sense for Li, who has a history in martial arts and very well could be quite the success in MMA. It isn’t that big of a stretch for her from wrestling, where she mainly used her striking abilities to quite the success. Hopefully Li is able to make this double sport thing work, as it is something other wrestlers have been able to pull off before, albeit not that often.
