Thuds incoming. Sometimes you just need two big power guys and that’s what you have with Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. The two of them have been around for several years now but haven’t quite found the gimmick that makes them stick. It’s come close, but maybe they need one more idea.
As announced this week on “Smackdown Live”, Harper and Rowan will debut under the name the Bludgeon Brothers on next week’s show. The team has been promoted through a series of vignettes where they talk about what a dark place their world is as both men wield large hammers. Neither has wrestled a televised match since July 4.
These guys are creepy.
Beware the Bludgeon Brothers: SmackDown LIVE, Oct. 10, 2017
Opinion: This works as well as anything else as they’re not even trying to hide what these two are. They’re a pair of monsters who are going to hit people very hard, which is all you need out of guys like Harper and Rowan. I’m not sure what kind of a shelf life they’ll have, but at least they’re getting another shot.
Do you like the Bludgeon Brothers gimmick? How long do you see it lasting? Let us know in the comments below.
