Sami Zayn is undoubtedly one of the biggest, most beloved superstars in WWE. Now he wants to use that surge of fans to help him fund something he is passionate about. It was time for something to be done, for someone to step in. Sami Zayn is a helluva man to do that.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has released an article explaining a fundraiser Sami Zayn has started to fund victims of the war in Syria with a new campaign.

Wrestling Superstar, Sami Zayn talks about the Syrian American Medical Society Foundation

The video above is the plea Sami Zayn makes. He explains the issue at hand, the amount needed to be raised and what you can do. We at Wrestling Rumors HIGHLY suggest you give this a watch. At less than three minutes long, you can hear why Zayn is so passionate about this cause.

Zayn announced on Wednesday that he would be teaming up with the Syrian American Medical Society Foundation in an effort to help the victims of the Syrian war. This comes as Zayn himself is a child of Syrian immigrants and this is close to his heart.

The new fundraising campaign is titled #SamiForSyria and the goal is to raise money for a mobile medical unit to help the injured. To get the team operational and going for six months, they need $48,000. At the time of writing, there has been over $32,000 donated.

In the video, Sami goes into vivid detail on the situation at hand:

“Unfortunately, with the devastation of the war in Syria, not only have people’s homes been destroyed, but hospitals have been destroyed. Children’s hospitals have been destroyed, making health care access not only limited but also dangerous. Therefore, a mobile clinic will be able to provide, safely, primary healthcare to those that are in need. And who are these people in need? We’re talking about the disabled, we’re talking about the elderly, we’re talking about women and children. People living in rural areas that have no access to fuel or transportation. People whose homes have been destroyed and are now living in camps and in tents. These are the people that we will directly be able to help.”

Editor’s Note:

I am so proud to see how much traction this is getting. I seen a bunch of notable names that donated, though anybody can seemingly choose whatever name they desire so I feel it will be unlikely that some of these are real people. Among the names I saw were Rob Schamberger, who is an incredible WWE artist you would’ve been with his series on the WWE YouTube channel, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Mick and Dewey Foley and potentially others I have neglected.

Are you going to donate? What are your thoughts on the fundraiser? Let us know in the comments below or over on our Facebook page or Twitter account. We also have the Wrestling Rumors app that we encourage you all to download to get updates faster than they release on our various pages. It is available on Android and iOS devices.
