For years, wrestling fans have asked that Chyna, often billed as the “ninth wonder of the world”, be inducted into the prestigious WWE Hall of Fame. Now a Raw Superstar has thrown her own comments into the mix.
In the past, Triple H said that a key reason in Chyna not making her way into the coveted Hall of Fame is due to her work in the adult film industry. The fear, as he explains it, is that young, impressionable kids will search Chyna’s name and find content inappropriate for them.
As the debate for a potential induction for Chyna rages on, wrestlers past and present are demanding that WWE do the right thing and induct her, often citing that WWE has inducted other wrestlers with highly controversial histories.
Raw Superstar Natalya was a guest on Sports 56/87.7 in Memphis, where she advocated for Chyna’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame and revealed that she believes the induction will “definitely happen” one day.
Here is what she had to say, with courtesy to Wrestling Inc for the transcription.
“I think that one day it will definitely happen. She really paved an incredible road for the women of the WWE and she was so unique. If you look back at those great memories of her, she really defined coloring outside the lines and being bold and bright and beautiful.”
“She was a pioneer for the women’s movement in general. So, I think definitely one day we’ll see it. A lot of people have said, ‘We should have this person in the Hall of Fame. And we should have this person in. And that tag team should be in.’ The thing is that WWE is not going anywhere. WWE is going to be around for a long, long time so everybody, I believe, is going to get their due and I believe Chyna will be one of them.”
This echos something Stephanie McMahon said during a TMZ Sports interview, claiming that Chyna will be in the WWE Hall of Fame at “some point.”
Now to pass off the question to you. Do you believe that WWE will induct Chyna into the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame? Will they induct her at all?
As much as I’d love to see Chyna be inducted, I don’t believe that will be something that happens any time soon. I’d love to see Chyna be honored in the 2019 class, but I am doubtful.
