NJPW held their ‘Strong Style Evolved,’ and we now have the list of results with a brief overview of what happened. During the show, the next NJPW show to be held in the United States was both announced and given a dare.

  • Jim Ross and Josh Barnett welcome fans to the show.
  • Roppongi 3K (SOH & YOH) and Rocky Romero def. Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky.
  • David Finlay & Juice Robinson def. Gedo & Hirooki Goto.
  • Davey Boy Smith Jr. & Davey Boy Smith Jr. def. Chuckie T & Toru Yano.
  • Cody [Rhodes] & Marty Scurll def. The Guerrillas of Destiny.
  • SANADA, Tetsuya Naito, BUSHI & Hiromu Takahashi def. Hiroshi Tanahashi, KUSHIDA, Dragon Lee & Rysuke Taguchi.
  • Rey Mysterio made an appearance and apologized for not being able to perform against Jushin Thunder Liger as was the plan for the show, due to his injury. He promised to be back and fight for NJPW in the future. He sits in the first row to watch Liger take on Ospreay.
  • Will Ospreay def. Jushin Thunder Liger.
  • Zack Sabre Jr. & Minoru Suzuki def. Tomohiro Ishii & Kazuchika Okada.
  • Jay White def. Adam Page.
  • After the match, David Finlay came out and attacked White with a Spear. He got on the mic and challenged him to a match on April 24 for the IWGP United States Championship.
  • Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi def. The Young Bucks.
  • Post-match, Rhodes came out furious, knocking Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks to the mat. Omega returns to the ring to chase him off before Matt Jackson bounces and Nick helps him. It should be noted that Rhodes disputes that he intentionally push Nick and he had believed it was Omega.

The show had some fantastic matches, such as that of the main event. Many fans have ranked the show a B+ as there was a lot to enjoy, but not many seriously memorable moments.

The Bullet Club separation storyline was prevalent throughout the whole night, and the subsequent ‘Being The Elite’ episode reflected this. There were many difficult moments, and the main event was the culmination of these.

We do suggest you watch the pay-per-view, even if it is just for the major segments.

Also during the night, NJPW confirmed that they would be returning to the United States for the ‘G1 Special’ on Saturday, July 7.

That show is expected to be held in San Francisco, California at the Cow Palace. As WrestlingInc note, the building can hold 13, 000 fans depending on the arrangement of the seats. Last year, the show had around 2, 300 fans at each show.
