To summarize the press release- Impact will launch today (Wednesday, January 17) on Twitch and will have content live 24/7. This means the channel will always be online, similarly to the WWE Network which has a 24/7 feed.
After Impact Wrestling on Pop this week, fans can visit the Twitch channel immediately to view the debut of Barbed Wire Massacre III. This match is billed as being “too violent for TV” and will feature the team of oVe and Sami Callihan vs. LAX and Homicide.
According to the press release, Impact will provide exclusive content on Twitch. This includes monthly live events and house shows, lifestyle programming showcasing various aspects of a professional wrestler’s life outside of the ring which includes diets, workouts, relationships and travel.
One event confirmation so far is that Impact will air the live event from WrestleCon in New Orleans, Louisiana on Friday, April 6 at 9 p.m. CT.
Every Monday night, longtime Impact wrestling announcer Jeremy Borash will be live to host the Live Audio Wrestling (The LAW) podcast. As one may expect, this podcast will cover anything from the world of professional wrestling, feature special guest interviews, live calls, interaction with the Twitch chat, contests and prizes.
On Wednesday nights, returning Impact star Tyrus will host ‘Nuff Said. This show will include Tyrus’ take on professional wrestling, politics, sports and popular culture. His addition to the channel likely comes from his relationship with Fox as a contributor for their news.
On Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET, Impact announcer Josh Matthews will host Matthews’ Megacast which will essentially be a second screen perspective of what is happening on Impact as it airs.
When these programs aren’t running, the Twitch channel will air past and present episodes of the flagship show, Xplosion episodes, pay-per-view events and over 1,000 hours of original programming.
It is worth noting that the press release lists Hulk Hogan, Sting, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Bobby Roode as appearing in classic programming.
