Despite the momentum Strowman has had over the past few months, WWE officials decided to leave the planned finish to the Universal Championship match as they had prior to the show.
According to F4Wonline.com, the plan for the match between these two behemoths colliding was completed months ago, with Lesnar set to retain.
This match was and still is considered just another stop on the road to ‘WrestleMania 34’ where the plan is for Roman Reigns to face Lesnar in a match where Reigns is expected to leave victorious.
Reigns defeated John Cena in what many consider to be a passing of the torch last night at ‘No Mercy.’ This is part of the same continuing storyline that will ultimately see Reigns defeat Lesnar at the grandest stage of them all.
