At WWE’s “Fastlane” pay-per-view, Goldust and Stardust had what was initially planned to be the first of a series of matches, ultimately culminating in a bout at WrestleMania. Their real-life father, Dusty Rhodes, was utilized to help get the feud over.
Goldust ended up taking down his brother in the match, but was attacked afterwards and has been off television since. With that said, it is being reported WWE may have nixed plans for the Goldust and Stardust feud past “Fastlane.”
The Wrestling Observer reports WWE noticed the match did not go over as well as planned, and the feud was not catching on in the way it was intended to. This is the reason Stardust was added to the WWE Intercontinental Championship ladder match at WrestleMania, and Goldust was not.
It is possible Goldust could still be added, but according to the outlet, it is far more likely he will be involved in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
There had been talks at one point of utilizing a match between the two brothers at WrestleMania as a retirement match for the 45-year-old Goldust, who would then move into a training role for WWE. This appears to be off the table as of now though.

A missed opportunity. Upset this won’t come to fruition, as the two had labored for it for some time.
