Earlier this year, former WWE Performance Center head trainer Bill DeMott and the company parted ways. DeMott had been accused of abuse and bullying while serving in the position and training NXT stars, as letters became public of his alleged abuse.
Following his departure from the company, WWE promoted NXT commentator Jason Albert, real name Matt Bloom, to be head interim trainer for the program. The move was applauded at the time, as many felt it would bring a culture change to the center.
In a new report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it appears such a morale is held around the NXT locker room after all.
According to the report, the general feeling is that things are much better off without DeMott around the NXT stars. There is said to be a much looser atmosphere with no complaints about an abusive environment. It is said Albert has done well in his job, and many of the employees think highly of him in this role.
WWE has not issued word as to whether he will be made the permanent trainer going forward, or if it will hire someone else to take over the job when it is felt necessary to do so. NXT and the WWE Performance Center were recently subject of an E:60 piece, which is why DeMott’s name was brought back into the limelight.
Editor’s Note
I would imagine things are better. I was never a DeMott fan, but never met him personally.
