For years, rumors persisted former WWE United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter, popularly known as MVP, would be returning to the company. He had visited “Smackdown” backstage in 2013, and it seemed like a reunion was possible between the two.
However, as reports then began to surface the then-40-year-old was on his way to TNA. Yet he was quick to deny the reports, claiming to be a free agent still. Ultimately though, it became official: MVP had arrived in “Impact Wrestling.”
But after a year that produced mixed results from a company standpoint, TNA has renewed MVP’s contract going forward. Executive Vice President of TNA John Gaburick announced the following on Twitter:
Proud to announce we have renewed the TNA contract of MVP. pic.twitter.com/OgzG9UkyV7

Since debuting with the company, MVP has been involved in major storylines. At first, he opposed Dixie Carter as a face as TNA’s mysterious investor, but eventually turned heel and supported Bobby Lashley during his run as champion. Since, he has remained a bad guy, and aligned with several of the company’s heels.
At 41, he is one of the company’s oldest talent under contract, with Kurt Angle currently standing as its oldest at 46.
Editor’s Note
He does good work and can talk, but there’s not much else to say.
