Believe it or not, 2015 is just around the corner. Not only this, but the “Road to WrestleMania” gets underway as well as the wrestling season approaches the “Royal Rumble” pay-per-view Jan. 25 in Philadelphia. With that said, it appears WWE is preparing in a major way.
According to a report from F4WOnline, WWE is set to kick off a “big” angle for WrestleMania 31, likely on the very first “Monday Night Raw” of 2015. This particular episode will air Jan. 5 live from Corpus Christi, Texas.
While there is no confirmation yet as to what the angle will be, much speculation has been thrown around. Current plans have the “vigilante” Sting, who debuted at “Survivor Series” in November, to face off against Triple H at the big spectacle. This is expected to be one of the main matches of the card, and has been teased to be kicking off for some time.
Alongside, there is the possibility Bray Wyatt may be next in line to take on The Undertaker at WrestleMania, should he be ready to go. Currently, Wyatt and Dean Ambrose are locked in a program, though that could obviously end at any moment given the two have had several matches on pay-per-view and television.
Brock Lesnar is set to face John Cena at the “Royal Rumble,” and a program between he and Roman Reigns is expected to carry into WrestleMania. This scenario is less likely to be the big angle however, as Reigns is expected to become the No. 1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship by winning the Rumble match.
Editor’s Note
My guess would be on Sting and Triple H, with the first seed of The Authority’s return being planted. Would make sense and start getting the ball rolling.
