TNA will stay at Universal Studios for “IMPACT” tapings and Pay-Per-Views. A new report from PWInsider.com claims that TNA Wrestling and Universal Studios finalized a deal on Jan. 24 that keeps TNA in some variation of the “Impact Zone” for the duration of 2014.
Reports from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter earlier in the week speculated on TNA’s future with Universal Studios, as it had appeared as if the company was not going to be able to recapture the “Impact Zone” due to Universal having other productions booked through multiple sound stages. According to PWInsider however, TNA was able to sneak around these issues by changing their taping schedule to weekend dates and times when Universal’s productions would be off-set.
Apparently, there were many sighs of relief backstage as TNA officials were told the company had locked in a facility to tape TV this year. With TNA not taking “IMPACT WRESTLING” on the road anymore, and after the release of some “immortal” and “iconic” names from the company, TNA’s budget seemed to stretch a bit for 2014, allowing TNA to add a fifth live PPV to their schedule.
TNA’s additional 2014 live PPV while air on April 26. Due to budget constraints in 2013, TNA only broadcasted four live Pay-Per-Views. While there has not been any additional discussion about the company adding anymore live PPVs to its schedule, things can always change with a bigger budget.
