According to new reports, MMA broadcast talent Cyrus Fees is set to be Global Force Wrestling’s color commentator alongside of former UFC competitor Chael Sonnen. GFW will be recording their first set of television tapings for their program, “GFW AMPED,” in Las Vegas on July 24.
For months, many had no idea who would be acting as the play-by-play announcer alongside Sonnen. For some time,
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross was rumored to be a candidate. However, Ross and GFW did not come to terms on a deal for him to become the voice of the company’s program.
Fees is 33 years-old, and is the ring announcer for Xtreme Fighting Championships. He is also the play-by-play commentator for the South African based EFC Worldwide MMA promotion. He began his time in the business as a commentator in NWA’s Smoky Mountain promotion.
Fees also worked as a news anchor from 2011-2012. “GFW AMPED” will tape on July 24, where the company will name their first four champions throughout the span of the tapings. Each title will be contested for in tournaments. TNA superstars will be crossing-over into GFW storylines in order to participate in the tapings, and championship tournaments.
Editor’s Note:
A relatively unknown voice in Fees. Let’s see what this kid can do.
